So what’s this all about? The obligatory “about me/my blog/etc” section, I guess. So, here goes. My name is Danielle, and I am a 22 year old female living in Chicago. Yes, female - I feel slightly uncomfortable calling myself a “woman”, and on the flip side, writing “young woman” made me feel as if I were 17 years old. So, female it is, for now. I live in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, and I recently landed what has been proving to be my dream job. I am a (junior) software developer for a wonderful company that allows you to create your own purses and handbags, which I’m sure I will blog about as time moves on. I decided to create a blog for a few reasons. One, I had this (at least what I think) awesome domain that I needed to decide what to do with - I only needed it for a semester for a web development class I was taking, but bought it for a year. My year was coming up in September, so I needed to decide what to do, and quick. Two, since graduating and starting work in the so-called “real world”, I have a lot more time on my hands (ironic, no?) - and thus, I have been looking for outlets to put some of my time and energy into. Three, my friends and I joke almost every day that we need to have a TV show - the things that are spewed out of our mouths at any given moment every single day are truly hilarious - though maybe not as hilarious comparitavely - everyone likes to think that their friends are the most hilarious human beings on the face of the planet. So, putting these things together I decided to start a blog and write about random daily occurrences, what it’s like being 20-something in this world today, and probably random techie stuff once in a while. You would think that being a software developer I would have just written my own blog and made my own theme, but alas - I am actually somewhat lazy when it comes to creating things for myself - so for now I am using Word Press - and will eventually get around to creating my own theme. For now, I hope that I enjoy writing my random thoughts of the day down - but more that you enjoy reading them!
